Ben Severson is a pioneer in the sport of bodyboarding and Sandy Beach local.[1]
Oahu lifeguard and former rival of Mike Stewart for more than 15 years, Ben is a fast, perfectly trained and precise prone rider who excels at tube riding. He quickly gained recognition by winning a world title at the beginning of his career. Ben has devoted his life to improving the equipment and the design of boards. Nowadays, he has stopped competing and is devoting more and more time to his brand, BSD (Ben Severson Design), and also to the development of bodyboarding for young people in Hawaii. Ben is a reserved person, he loves traveling and surfing remote breaks. For him, the best breaks are Banzai Pipeline and Indonesia.
His first signature model, the BZ Ben Severson T-10 bodyboard, was one of the most popular and expensive bodyboards in the '90s.
